Bad Company announced five U.S. tour dates for the closing months of 2018, including two appearances alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd and one with Cheap Trick. You can see the list below.
The lineup features original singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, but guitarist Mick Ralphs appears to be unlikely to return after suffering a stroke in 2016.
“The only information I have is that he has paralysis on his left side, which is all indications of the stroke," Kirke told last year. "I don't really want to comment any further 'cause I don't know, but given his age, which is 72, the prognosis is not good. ... We pray for him and we wish him as best an outcome as is possible at that age. In terms of a career, it's not looking good for him, quite honestly.”
Kirke added that “you can never really close the door on this band. It's always going in some form or another. ... I think as long as Paul is singing and I'm playing drums, it's a credible Bad Company.”
The new dates follow Rodgers’ the Stars Align tour of the States alongside Jeff Beck and Ann WIlson. "I’ve always been a Jeff Beck fan," Rodgers said before the tour. "Who isn’t? He is in a league of his own. Ann Wilson has an amazing voice and is a brilliant songwriter."

Following the Bad Company UK tour that wound up last Saturday at London's 02 Arena the family and representatives of the band's co-founder, guitarist and songwriter Mick Ralphs are sad to announce that Mick has suffered a stroke.

Mick is receiving excellent medical care and is recovering in hospital, although all his public engagements are necessarily on hold, pending his improvement.

Everyone is wishing Mick a speedy recovery, and further news will be announced at the appropriate time.

Begins October 15th In Leeds
Tickets On Sale This Friday June 3rd

May 31, 2016 – Bad Company will return to the UK for their first tour in four years this fall on their ‘Swan Song’ tour.  Original Bad Company members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke will hit eight UK cities in October including Leeds, Cardiff, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and London.

“With mean riffs that took no prisoners, smoldering grooves and THE voice of all British voices, these guys brought home a special unique angle to the scene. “I’m excited to see them make their way back on the road, town to town.” - Robert Plant.

Bad Company burst upon the rock’n’roll scene in 1973, and was immediately dubbed a super-group by fans and press alike, as its members all came from very successful popular bands:  Free (Rodgers and Kirke), Mott The Hoople (Ralphs) and King Crimson (Burrell). They continue to live up to that hype and are one of the strongest successful touring bands today.
"Returning to the UK with Bad Company where it all began 40 plus years ago is full circle for the band and the fans. It’s always a pleasure to play in the UK," remarked Paul Rodgers.

“So looking forward to be playing in the UK for all our great fans-- gonna be great!" Mick Ralphs added.

“The British fans are special and we're going to give them a treat.  There's nothing like playing in my home country...” Simon Kirke added.

Special guests Richie Sambora + Orianthi (RSO) will open every show along with Steve Rodgers or Jasmine Rodgers as the first act.  Tickets go on sale this Friday and can be purchased at:

Despite their reputation as one of the most exciting live bands to ever rock an arena, Bad Company never released a live album during its meteoric rise to the top of the charts until last month. LIVE IN CONCERT 1977 & 1979 was released last month via Rhino Records and also debuted on the UK album charts.

Paul Rodgers and Bad Company Continue to Live for the Music, Both Onstage and on Disc

Any band can sound good in the studio, but it’s the live stage where artists really have to prove their mettle night in and night out, especially if they’re interested in a little ol’ thing called longevity. One group that owned the planks from the minute it first stepped onto them is Bad Company, the British blues-rock collective that further legitimized Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label upon the release of its mega-selling self-titled debut in 1974.

Even though Bad Company became a hugely successful arena act, they never released a live album to properly chronicle their ’70s heyday — until now, that is, thanks to the double-CD offering Live in Concert 1977 & 1979 (Swan Song/Rhino). The first disc comprises the May 23, 1977 set at the Summit House in Houston, Texas, in support of that year’s Burning Sky LP, and the second disc covers the March 9, 1979 show across The Pond in London in support of 1979’s double-platinum juggernaut, Desolation Angels. This energetic pair of shows showcases both hits (“Shooting Star,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love”) and deep cuts (“Heartbeat,” “Evil Wind”) alike, with limited overlap between the two sets. (More on that in a bit.)

Rich Robinson To Sit In For Mick Ralphs On Upcoming Bad Company & Joe Walsh

‘One Hell Of A Night’
Co-Headlining US Tour

March 17, 2016 – Bad Company will have a new guest guitarist with them for their upcoming summer tour: Rich Robinson.  As the co-founding member of The Black Crowes, Rich has released three solo albums; his most recent one being The Ceaseless Sight in 2014.

“I’ve decided to sit this upcoming US tour out,” guitarist Mick Ralphs commented.  “The travel required to do these dates is something I’m just not feeling up for at the moment.  I’m glad the band found Rich to take my place for this run, I’m sure he’ll be great.  See you all again soon. Much love to Paul and Simon, and love to all our fans for supporting us over the years Thanks.”

“I'm excited to be joining Bad Company as their special guest on tour this summer, Rich Robinson remarked.  “One of my favorite bands growing up was Free. I've been a big fan of Paul Rodgers and his work throughout his career--from Bad Company and beyond--and Simon Kirke is one of my all time favorite drummers. To be able to play with Paul and Simon is such an honor.  I'm really looking forward to it.  See you out there!”

Bad Company lead singer, Paul Rodgers and Rich Robinson are no strangers to each other, having shared a stage late last year in Seattle at the EMP Museum to honor Rodgers’ former band mate in The FirmJimmy Page.

Bad Company & Joe Walsh Announce ‘One Hell Of A Night’
Co-Headlining US Tour

25 Shows Kicking Off On May 9th In Dallas, TX

March 3, 2016 – Joe Walsh and Bad Company (Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke) announce their ‘One Hell Of A Night’ tour which begins in Dallas, Texas on May 12 and ends in Nashville TN on July 3rd.  As co-headliners they will rotate the headlining spot each show.  As for who will headline in what city Walsh playfully quipped: “I told Paul, if it’s a long bus ride I go first!”

"I had always hoped that we would do something together and so here we are 30 years later finally touring together, Bad Company lead singer Paul Rodgers commented.  “It has taken us this long so I wouldn't miss this.  Unless you want to wait 30 more years for our next tour in 2046!!!  There is only one Joe Walsh, he is such a unique person and an uber talented singer, songwriter and musician."

“I have a huge amount of respect for Paul of course and the band and we get along great,” added Walsh. “Paul and I agreed it would be a hell of an evening of music, one that will be memorable for everyone who comes, and memorable for us, and that’s important in this day and age.”

“I’ve loved Joe Walsh since I first heard the James Gang many years ago, looking forward to playing with him again!” remarked Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs.

"Getting back on stage with Mick and Paul is always a thrill for me,” added Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke.  “And knowing that I get to see Joe Walsh every night makes it that much better..."

The tour will also include a special VIP ticket package for sale. This is something both co-headliners are really excited about. “We wanted to open it up, meet our fans and give back something special to as many people as possible who have been supporting both our bands all these years,” said Walsh.

As for set lists this really will be “One Hell Of A Night” and just to name a few you of course you can expect songs like: “Rocky Mountain Way,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good To Me So Far,” “Funk 49,” “Life In The Fast Lane,” from Joe and “Shooting Star,”  “Feel Like Makin Love,” “Bad Company,” “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy,” from Bad Company plus many more.

Performing with Joe Walsh will be many of his backing band members from his record-setting solo Walsh Tour 2015, including Joe Vitale, his Barnstorm bandmate on drums; Gannin Arnold on guitar and Larry Young on bass. Leslie Fuller, Connie Jackson, Windy Wagner and Rickey Washington will be background singers and Clayton Janes on samples.

British singer, songwriter and recording artist Steve Rodgers will open each show acoustically, playing original songs from his new album.

Bad Company will be making some announcements in the coming weeks about several new projects they have in the works including a classic live album release.

Bad Company Release Rare And Previously Unreleased Tracks As Part Of  Remastered Deluxe Editions Of Their First Two Multi-Platinum Albums

Available On April 7 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES – Bad Company has influenced bands from Bon Jovi to Five Finger Death Punch, who recently had a #1 hit with their cover of the song “Bad Company.”  They have also helped shaped the sound of an entire rock era with iconic powerhouse rock anthems “Can’t Get Enough,” “Rock Steady,” along with the ever popular ballads “Ready for Love,” “Seagull,” and  Grammy®-nominated “Feel Like Makin’ Love.” The British rockers recently unearthed the original multi-track tapes from their first two albums and discovered previously unreleased tracks, takes, and mixes from those sessions.

For the first time ever, the band has remastered Bad Company (1974) and Straight Shooter (1975) using the original tapes to create new Deluxe Editions. It was paramount to founding member Paul Rodgers that the CD and LP be copied from the original tapes to guarantee the best sound possible. Each set includes a newly remastered version of the original album, along with a number of rare and unreleased recordings. The CD versions of these Deluxe Editions include all of the newly discovered bonus tracks, while their 180-gram vinyl counterparts offer a selection of the bonus material.

Deluxe Editions of BAD COMPANY and STRAIGHT SHOOTER will be available on April 7 at retail outlets for a suggested list price of $19.98 (2CD) and $38.98 (2LP). The titles will also be available digitally.

Singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist Rodgers, along with guitarist/songwriter Mick Ralphs, bassist Boz Burrell, and drummer Simon Kirke recorded the band’s eponymous debut in November 1973 using Ronnie Lane’s mobile studio at Headley Grange, the former poorhouse where Led Zeppelin recorded frequently. When Bad Company was released the following year, the album went to #1 in America during the band’s first U.S. tour and was eventually certified 5x platinum thanks to hits like “Can’t Get Enough,” “Bad Company,” “Ready for Love,” and “Movin’ On.”

The second disc of the Deluxe Edition features 12 tracks, including eight previously unreleased recordings such as the demo for the ballad “The Way I Choose,” a take of “Bad Company” recorded right before the album version, and an unedited version of “Superstar Woman,” a song that Rodgers later recorded in 1983 for his solo album Cut Loose. Also featured is the single edit of “Can’t Get Enough,” and the b-sides “Little Miss Fortune” and “Easy On My Soul.”

The band released its second album Straight Shooter in April 1975, 40 years to the month of the new deluxe edition. The album rose to #3 on the U.S. album chart and was certified 3x platinum behind the hit singles “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad” as well as the rock radio staple “Shooting Star.”

Of the 14 bonus tracks, all are previously unreleased except the b-side “Whiskey Bottle.” Among the standouts is a stripped-down version of “Shooting Star,” a remix of “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad” with alternative guitar and vocals tracks, as well as two lost gems, never released before: “See The Sunlight” and “All Night Long.”

"Paul Rodgers has created a timeless masterpiece in The Royal Sessions"  - Jimmy Page

This spectacular, never to be repeated show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Monday November 3rd will see the genius that is Paul Rodgers’ present The Royal Sessions live, with all the players from the record.

This very special show will feature the legendary cast list outlined below, and will be a show that is talked about for years, Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 15th August at and will be a sold out show.

In the mid ‘60s, before this singer/songwriter founded Free, Bad Company or The Firm with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, Rodgers was a teen band singer in Middlesbrough, England besotted with vinyl 45s from America: hot new R&B sides from Memphis labels like Stax/Volt, Goldwax and later Hi Records. Spinning the records over and over, Rodgers would imagine how the artists and singers created such momentous sounds and wonder about the places they came from.

Flash forward to 2013: Paul Rodgers is at South Memphis’ Royal Studios, recording those familiar old songs with many of the same players who had graced the original tracks.

The session almost seemed fated. Rodgers had been working on a solo album of original rock material with his friend and musical collaborator Perry A. Margouleff. In late 2012, Margouleff was visiting Memphis where he was tipped to Royal Studios, the historic home of late producer Willie Mitchell and Hi Records. For over 40 years, Royal has remained a thriving recording hub where artists come take advantage of the vintage gear, old-school wisdom, and sheer magic of the room. They’ve also utilized the talents of the native players, foremost among them the stalwarts of the famed Hi Rhythm Section, built around the Hodges Brothers. Still turning out remarkable records and performances today, Royal Studios has become the last great resource for those truly seeking the real thing.

The result of Paul Rodgers’ pilgrimage to this musical Mecca is a deeply felt, powerfully sung and expertly played collection. Featuring a cross-section of material handpicked by Rodgers, it surveys a wide landscape of American
R&B, offering fresh takes on the fatback blues of Albert King, the gutbucket balladry of Otis Redding, the sophisticated stirrings of Issac Hayes and a host of other classics from the Southern soul canon.

Working in the real-school style, everything was recorded on analogue tape, with the basic tracks – including Rodgers’ vocals – all cut live on the floor with the band. Unaware of Rodgers’ history or reputation, the veteran session men were surprised when he chose to kick off the session with a pass at Redding’s iconic “That’s How Strong My Love Is.” After Rodgers nailed the song in a single scintillating take, organist Charles Hodges took him aside and said admiringly, “Man, you’ve really got this in you. You can really do this.”

Moved by their experiences working in Memphis, Rodgers and Margouleff decided to donate proceeds from the album to the Stax Music Academy in Memphis for children’s education programs, as thanks to a city and musical community that’s meant so much to them.

The Royal Sessions represents the culmination of a long, profound journey for Paul Rodgers. Five decades after first discovering these songs on those old 45s, he has created a record direct from the heart.

Says Rodgers, “We seem to have touched a nerve in the world of music lovers.  This is music with feeling.”

This is the sound of his R&B fantasy—his soul dream—finally come true and now will see it on the stage of the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Players:

Reverend Charles Hodges Sr. – Hammond B3
A man of the cloth for over 25 years, Charles Hodges has ministered to music fans for far longer than that. Possessed of a singular organ style, Charles’ elaborate swells, emotional stabs, and unusual chord voicings would color the great hits of O.V. Wright, Al Green, Ann Peebles, and Syl Johnson, and add new melodic dimensions to soul music.

Leroy Hodges Jr. – Bass Guitar
The rock of Royal Studios, the man who put the rhythm in Hi Rhythm, Leroy “Flick” Hodges holds a transformative power in his very hands. His languid bass lines and liquid melodies were among the key elements that marked the shift in the sound and feel of soul as it entered the "Me Decade,” moving the music off the dance floor and into the bedroom.

Archie “Hubby” Turner – Wurlitzer
A keyboard wiz, Turner began his career playing in a dance band called The Impalas with Charles Hodges. Upon joining the Hi Rhythm section, during the latter half of the house band’s glorious run, he would bring another facet to the group’s sound. Adding his swirling Wurlitzer to the mix, he created a synergistic interplay with Hodges' Hammond that lent a further dreamy quality to the music. He currently tours internationally with Cyndi Lauper.

Michael Toles – Guitar
Over the course of a nearly five-decade career, guitarist Michael Toles has worked with many of the giants of American roots music, from the Kings (B.B. and Albert), to the Thomas family (Rufus and Carla). He’s played with “Black Moses” Isaac Hayes, aided gospel patriarch Pops Staples, and added his
signature six-string styling to hundreds of essential recordings and continues to be a go-to session player.

Steve Potts – Drums
Part of a lineage of great Memphis trapsmen, Steve Potts is blood kin to the late lamented lynchpin of both Stax and Hi Records, Al Jackson, Jr. A cousin to Jackson, Potts was tapped to replace him in the revived version of Booker T. and the MGs. He’s also brought his laidback funky feel – the essential heartbeat of the Memphis sound – to records and tours for artists running the gamut from Neil Young to Cat Power.

The Royal Singers:
Shontelle Norman
Sharisse Norman
Soothing, pleading, or scolding, the female voices on classic Hi Records were an essential part of the sonic formula that captivated the record buying public. Today, the smoldering backing, complex chorales, and emotive harmonies are provided by a tight knit group of gospel-rooted singers.

The Royal Horns:
Marc Franklin – Trumpet
James L. Spake – Baritone Sax
Gary Topper – Tenor Sax
Lannie “The Party” McMillan Jr. – Tenor Sax
One of the great trumpeters in R&B history, the late Willie Mitchell created the template for the Hi Records horn sound. Instantly identifiable, his brass arrangements were about creating a vibe that transcended the notes on the page, elevating the music in the process. The current day edition of the Royal Horns – a multigenerational mix of Memphis’ best blowers – continues that tradition admirably.

The Royal Sessions for one night only at the renowned Royal Albert Hall in London on November 3rd tickets on sale Friday 15th August at

All proceeds from the show will go to the Willows Animal Sanctuary & Animal Assisted Therapy Unit in Aberdeenshire

Bad Company’s Founding Singer, Songwriter And Multi-Instrumentalist Records Versions Of Classic Songs At Memphis’ Royal Studios With Original Session Musicians

Paul Rodgers, longtime singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with Bad Company, has partnered with 429 Records and is gearing up for the release of “The Royal Sessions”—a lovingly crafted collection of classic R&B and soul songs re-imagined by the iconic rock singer recorded at Memphis’ Royal Studios, historic home of Willie Mitchell and Hi Records, with many of the musicians who played on the original tracks. Truly a lifetime in the making, Rodgers has come full circle with “The Royal Sessions” as he pays homage to the legendary hits he collected on 45s released on Stax/Volt, Goldwax and Hi Records—recordings by Otis Redding, Albert King and Ann Peebles which made such an indelible impression on the young Rodgers inspiring him to pursue a career as a singer. Produced by Perry Margouleff, “The Royal Sessions” is an extraordinary recording which captures the music in its pure form—live band and vocal takes as performed together at Royal Studios by Rodgers and an all-star roster of legendary musicians. The band is a dream lineup of those who played on the original hits dating back to the 60’s. The classic rhythm section includes Reverend Charles Hodges (Hammond B3), Michael Tolls (guitar), LeRoy Hodges Jr. (bass), “Hubby” Archie Turner (Wurlitzer), Steve Potts and James Robertson Sr. (drums), The Royal Horns and the Royal Singers. “The Royal Sessions” will be released on 429 Records in the U.S. (international release dates below).

“The Royal Sessions” is a remarkable project that came together as Rodgers was working on a solo record and producer Margouleff had just discovered that Royal Studios was still up and running under the auspices of Willie “Pops” Mitchell’s son Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell. The opportunity to record in such a hallowed place with musicians he considered personal heroes was a dream come true. The Memphis players forged an immediate bond when presented with his formidable talent and sincere love of the songs. Deeply felt, powerfully sung and expertly played, it features a cross-section of material hand-picked by Rodgers, songs of great historical significance and personal meaning.

Says Rodgers: “I really felt I had to get deeper inside myself than I ever had in my life. The end result is that recording these songs left me recharged as a singer and also as a songwriter. My favorite part was the love we could feel in the room throughout all the sessions. We all spoke the same language.”

Says Margouleff: “I wanted to make the most of this incredible opportunity so I recorded Paul and the band live in the studio. We captured the pure energy of their performance. Recording in an all analogue format the sonic quality is unparalleled and the listener can experience the music on a deeper level.”

All of the proceeds from “The Royal Sessions” will be donated to local Memphis music education programs. Special showcase performances by Paul Rodgers with the musicians on “The Royal Sessions” will be announced.

“The Royal Sessions” track listing:

1) Thank You
2) Down Don’t Bother Me
3) I Can’t Stand The Rain
4) I’ve Been Loving You Too Long
5) That’s How Strong My Love Is
6) Walk On By
7) Any Old Way
8) It’s Growing

Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke Discuss Reunion, Tour And 40 Years Of Rock’n’Roll Fantasies

Dallas, TX - JUNE 27, 2013.

North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands gives you a front row ticket to Bad Company’s 40th anniversary festivities. Formed in 1973 from the members of British bands Free and Mott the Hoople, Bad Company were a supergroup in the making and the first signing to Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label. In an industry where anticipation and expectations can often derail bands from the start, Bad Company would rise to the occasion, delivering hit albums and producing one of the most memorable catalogs of ‘70s rock. Hits like “Can’t Get Enough”, “Movin’ On”, “Feel Like Making Love”, “Rock’n’Roll Fantasy”,  “Ready for Love”, “Shooting Star”,”Silver Blue and Gold” would fast become staples on the radio and in the concert halls. InTheStudio host Redbeard sat down with Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke during rehearsals for this Summer’s 40th anniversary tour to discuss the band’s legacy. During the interview, Paul Rodgers reveals what music inspired the members of Bad Company.

”The records we listened to, when we were getting turned on to music, were actually 40 years old, you know, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf and Albert King and all these guys. We were listening to quite old music, but to us it was eternal music. I can still listen to it now. I think we took something from that. And that’s probably part of what we do.”

Mick Ralphs explains what touring with Bad Company over forty years means to him.

“It’s good. It keeps you on your toes, nothing set in stone. We have a great collection of songs, fortunately for us, that people want to hear.”

Catch this special two part- two week InTheStudio program and be sure to see Bad Company this Summer with co-headliner Lynyrd Skynyrd as both bands celebrate their 40th anniversaries.

Brian Mansfield, USA TODAY

The classic-rock favorites team up with Lynyrd Skynyrd for a string of U.S dates.

The group — which features founding members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke (bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006) — played Rancho Mirage, Calif., on June 15 and will begin co-headlining dates with Lynyrd Skynyrd Thursday at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Wash.

The two bands have a long history together, going back to the '70s. "They loved us," Rodgers says of Skynyrd, "because they were very influenced by my earlier band, Free. So Ronnie Van Zant and all those guys, we would hang out together and talk about music."

The 24 U.S. dates, which end Sept. 19 in Manson, Wash., are the group's first in the country since 2009.

Runnin' with the pack. The current tour celebrates the 40th anniversary of Bad Company, a supergroup formed from members of Free (Rodgers and drummer Kirke), Mott the Hoople (guitarist Ralphs) and King Crimson (Burrell). The group played its first show in February 1974 at the Zoom Club in Frankfurt, Germany. "We just put our show on the stage, the music we had," Rodgers says. "It was rough, and we weren't very slick at all, but it was the first time we'd played in front of people. There's a different edge to playing live." Early set lists featured the core of the group's five-time-platinum debut album, Bad Company, released in June 1974, including future hits Bad Company, Rock Steady and Can't Get Enough. "There's not a full set there, so I'd have to think about how we beefed it up to a two-hour set," Rodgers says.

Movin' on. After a string of multiplatinum albums and hits that included Feel Like Makin' Love and Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy, Rodgers left Bad Company in 1982. The 1980 death of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham factored significantly in his decision to leave. "I thought, that's it, I'm coming off the road. I want some time at home. I want to get my feet on the ground. I want to get a taste of reality, and I want to see my kids. I want to take them to school, and I want to be there for their birthdays. 'Cause you miss a lot of things." The band continued with singer Brian Howe, then Robert Hart, with Rodgers rejoining in 1995.

Good pyro gone bad. On a recent tour of Germany where a 50-piece orchestra accompanied him, Rodgers had a narrow miss with one of the flame projectors at the foot of his stage. "They literally shot straight up in the air at the front of the stage, 18 feet, and there were four of them," he says. "They told me to be very careful to stay away from those areas during one of the songs. And I completely forgot. I was standing directly over one — these are pre-programmed, so they can't actually stop them — I stepped back, just as it went whoosh! Straight in front of my face, just about burned my eyebrows."

Rock 'n' roll fantasy bands. For rock bands of a certain vintage, Rodgers seems to be the replacement singer of choice. After leaving Bad Company, he and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recorded two mid-'80s albums as The Firm. He toured and recorded with Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor from 2005 to 2009. Three other overtures that would have reshaped rock history were non-starters, though: Rodgers says members of the Doors unsuccessfully sought him out in the early '70s. "Nobody could find me," he says. "I was deep in the country with Mick, working on songs for Bad Company, so no one knew where I was." A conversation with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry during one of his fallings-out with singer Steven Tyler didn't yield much, either. "There was talk of that, but there was never any possibility of doing it," he says. Also, "Neal Schon, when he was forming Journey, sent me an entire repertoire of songs. But I never really followed that up. The next thing I knew, they were huge."

Can't give enough. Here's another reason Rodgers likes Lynyrd Skynyrd: He met his wife, Cynthia, through the band while touring together during the '90s. The couple currently lives in British Columbia. "I don't really function very well without her nowadays," Rodgers says. "I need her on the tour. So it's very good to have her come with me." And if a woman comes up to you at one of this summer's shows and offers you $100, it's probably Cynthia, who gives the money to unsuspecting fans at each show as a random act of kindness. "Cynthia has a big heart," Rodgers says.

Both Bands Will Supplement This Joint Excursion With Individual Headline Dates

New York --- Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced a co-headline tour that takes the bands coast-to-coast for 12 dates.  Both bands celebrate significant 40th anniversaries in 2013, with Lynyrd Skynyrd having released their debut album on August 13, 1973 and Bad Company being formed that same year.  While the pair have shared the stage and Paul Rodgers has toured with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company and Skynyrd have never toured as co-headliners together.

Bad Company were dubbed a super-group upon the  band's formation due to the union of Free's Paul Rodgers (Vocals / Multi-Instrumentalist) with Mott The Hoople's Mick Ralphs (Guitar) plus King Crimson's Boz Burrell (Bass) and Free's Simon Kirke (Drums).  Over the next nine years, the band released a string of six albums, yielding international hits "Can't Get Enough," "Bad Company," "Feel Like Makin' Love," and many others penned by the main songwriters Paul Rodgers and Mick Ralphs. Original members Rodgers, Ralphs, and Kirke will be joined by guitarist Howard Leese and bassist Todd Ronning (from Paul Rodgers solo band).  Original bassist Boz Burrell passed away in 2006.

Bad Company has inspired many of today's musicians.  Most notably, Metal band Five Finger Death Punch who scored a #1 Active Rock hit with a cover of the song "Bad Company". Since 2001, the band has only played 11 isolated performances, and has not staged a tour of The United States until now.  In front of the run, Rodgers shares, "When Mick and I formed the band in the 70's we were amazed at the instant success.  It didn't hurt to have Led Zeppelin behind us, and we wrote some decent songs that still resonate.  This one is for fans."

Led by core members Gary Rossington (guitar), Johnny Van Zant (vocals) and Rickey Medlocke (guitar), along with longtime drummer Michael Cartellone, Lynyrd Skynyrd has maintained a tremendous legacy that began over 40 years ago in Jacksonville, Florida, and continues with the recently released Last Of A Dying Breed (Roadrunner).  The band's career was halted for a decade after the 1977 plane crash that killed three band members, including Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines, and then subsequently faced adversity through the losses of Billy Powell, Ean Evans, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson and Huey Thomasson, yet they rock on.  With a catalog of over 60 albums, sales beyond 30 million worldwide and their beloved classic American rock anthem “Sweet Home Alabama” having over two million downloaded ringtones, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.  The current line-up features Gary Rossington (Guitar), Johnny Van Zant (Vocals), Rickey Medlocke (Guitar), Mark "Sparky" atejka (Guitar), Michael Cartellone (Drums), Johnny Colt (Bass), Peter Keys (Keyboards), Dale Krantz Rossington- Honkettes (Backing Vocals) and Carol Chase-Honkettes (Backing Vocals).

Paul Rodgers reveals, "The Skynyrds and I go back to the 70's and the days and nights at the Hyatt House on Sunset in LA aka the Riot House.  In the 90's the band introduced me to my wife Cynthia, and that's why I am so damned happy and healthy these years."  Lynyrd Skynyrd's Johnny Van Zant offers, "Every member of Skynyrd has been fans of Bad Company from the get go.  Personally, Paul is one of my favorite rock singers.  We have a deep appreciation for Bad Company’s music and look forward to being on the road with them and sharing the stage.”

Special guests and Kentucky-bred hard rockers, Black Stone Cherry, will be kicking things off on The 40 Tour.  Their music has been described as Southern-fried hard rock about everything from being proud of where you come from and true to who you are.

The co-headline tour will stage performances at the following venues:

We humans owe them so much.  My wife Cynthia and I have visited both sanctuaries and can't imagine any of these healthy vibrant beings being sent off to slaughter.  Blues great Willie Dixon believed that 'Once we know better we can do better' now that we know better, let's do better."

Upon arrival at radio, worldwide support has been witnessed at the rock format.  The song "With Our Love," can be found on-line here: and at all digital retailers.

KISS, Paul Rodgers & more on new Paul McCartney tribute album

It's fair to say Paul McCartney has had a few tributes in his time, and there's news that another one is on the way.

The Sun reports McCartney is making a new album featuring covers of his own solo material and Wings tracks.

McCartney hand-picked the artists himself, including KISS, The Cure, B.B. King, Paul Rodgers, Billy Joel and Garth Brooks.

It's partly a family affair, as Paul's son, James, will be on the record doing a song with The Cure.

"James was over the moon at playing with The Cure," a source told The Sun. "He's always been a big fan. They all went into a studio in Sussex and hung out together."

Sir Paul is thrilled about it. "Over the years, Robert Smith and Macca's paths have crossed countless times and he is chuffed having The Cure pay tribute to him," stated the source.

A full song/artist list has not been announced, but we know KISS have already recorded their version of "Venus And Mars/Rock Show" for the set, as KISS told fans via Facebook last August:

"After being invited, we chose and sang Venus and Mars/Rockshow for the McCartney tribute album. Other performers include Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, BB King and Paul Rodgers. The backing tracks were all recorded by Paul McCartney's touring band. We consider it an honor to be asked to participate on a tribute to one of the most influential and greatest singer/songwriters of all time. Not to mention, a major force in the most important band of all time, The Beatles. Wow!"

No release date has been announced…stay tuned.

With Very Special Guest Joe Elliott

Everyone knows that Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in the world.
What they are only just waking up to is that there may never be another like him."
- Mick Wall, Classic Rock Magazine

Paul Rodgers, legendary singer/songwriter is the only musician in history to have led three bands to international success Free, Bad Company and The Firm and achieve a Grammy nominated Solo career. He will be returning to the UK in April of 2011 to play 10 exclusive Solo shows. His last UK Solo tour in 2006 culminated with the filming of his debut Certified Gold DVD “Live in Glasgow” that charted internationally, #1 in Canada #3 in the US, on the Nielsen soundscan charts, #2 in Japan and #4 in the UK. He is one of the most revered vocalists and songwriters in rock music. ”Paul Rodgers is the real deal.” Eric Clapton 2008 ”Working with Paul gave me the opportunity to appreciate what an extraordinary vocalist and songwriter this man really is.” Jimmy Page. 2010 “Paul’s voice is incredible!” Robert Plant 2010. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 19th November 2010.

Selling over 90 million and counting records during his career, Paul Rodgers is and has been one of the most sought after and recognizable vocalists in rock music, who joined forces with Queen in 2004 to tour and go on to record a new studio album “The Cosmos Rocks” released in 2008.A songwriter and self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Rodgers has written, recorded, produced and released 30 albums since 1968. He has recorded/performed with some of the most legendary figures in musical history - Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Joe Walsh, Slash, Nils Lofgren, Charlie Watts, Bryan Adams, Motown's Sam Moore & The Four Tops, blues greats Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin and others. In 2009, Rodgers was the recipient of the Classic Rock Roll of Honour “Classic Songwriter” award presented to him by Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.

Recently, BMI presented Rodgers with his fourth “Million Air” Award in recognition of more than four million performances of Free’s hit song "All Right Now” on U.S. radio, the song has also surpassed a massive 2,000,000 radio plays in the UK (as of 2000). A radio staple for 40 years, “All Right Now” was an international #1 hit in over 20 territories.”When I started writing “All Right Now” the lyrics and the melody flowed easily. It felt special then and still does. It’s a must play in my Solo set.” Paul Rodgers .The song topped the UK’s 2010 Planet Rock radio fan poll as the “Greatest Rock Single,” in “one of the most decisive polls” they’ve ever run, beating out 39 international chart-topping hit songs from artists such as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, AC/DC, The Eagles, Queen and Guns and Roses. Previous Planet Rock polls placed “All Right Now” on the “Best Summer Rock Song,” “Greatest Rock Riff of All Time” and “Ultimate Driving Songs” charts.

After a five-year skyrocketing run of success, Free would disband in 1973 and Paul Rodgers would go on to form and front another legendary rock band, Bad Company. Earlier this year, “The Very Best of Free and Bad Company featuring Paul Rodgers” , featuring Rodgers’ greatest works during the legendary ’68-’73 era of Free and ’73-’82 era of Bad Company, became Bad Company's first top 10 chart appearance since 1979 and Free's first since 1991.Paul Rodgers and Bad Company’s 2010 UK tour Sold Out.

Supporting Rodgers on his Solo tour are special guests Joe Elliott’s Down ‘N’ Outz.  Fronted by Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and backed by The Quireboys, Down ‘N’ Outz will be an evening of music by Mott The Hoople and its collective works.

Los Angeles, CA – August 3, 2010 – The original members of legendary rock band Bad Company have announced they will extend their 2010 North American tour with four new dates confirmed for October, followed by five new dates in Japan. The exclusive tour run of Japan will be the first time in over three decades the original members have performed together there. Initially released earlier this year in the UK, the Warner Bros/Rhino greatest hits set "The Very Best of Free and Bad Company featuring Paul Rodgers" is slated for release September 22 in Japan, to coincide with the tour.

In addition, the band has announced the production of a new documentary titled "Movin' On." Bad Company, in partnership with production company Rogue HD, is currently on the road filming a concert tour documentary during the band's 2010 North American Tour.

Selling over 90 million records during his career, Paul Rodgers is and has been one of the most sought-after and recognizable vocalists in rock music. "The Very Best of Free and Bad Company featuring Paul Rodgers" greatest hits collection features Rodgers' greatest works during the legendary '68-'73 era of Free and '73-'82 era of Bad Company, the album collects 15-tracks from the very best of the chart-topping hits during that 14-year musical tenure. An exclusive iTunes deluxe version of the album, featuring bonus recordings, is also available. Alongside the UK release earlier this year, the original members of Bad Company reunited for their first concert tour of the UK in over three decades. The highly anticipated tour run culminated with a sold-out show at Wembley Arena. The collection became Bad Company's first top 10 chart appearance since 1979, Free's first since 1991 and was Rodgers' return to the charts following his 2007 certified Gold debut solo DVD "Live in Glasgow" which charted at #1 in Canada*, #2 in Japan, #3 in the US* and #4 in the UK.

Currently, "Movin' On" film crews are chronicling the band and crew during their daily activities on tour in addition to filming each nights show. The project has been described as a film where the tour itself is the star. "Each city, each venue, the crew and fans are as much a part of 'Movin' On' as the band themselves," said executive producer, William Johnson.

Official Bad Company iPhone and Android apps are now available and the "Movin' On 2010" tour video blog will be hosted exclusively in the smartphone apps and on the official Bad Company website at Features within the app allow fans to interact with each other at the venues on the concert tour, see concert video clips and a backstage look into the tour itself. Los Angeles, CA – July 7, 2010 – Legendary rock icon Paul Rodgers has announced that during his concert tours this year, both Solo and Bad Company, he will be donating rare personal stage items, autographed memorabilia and collectables for a nightly draw. All of the proceeds will be given to the Fender Centers ‘Kids Rock Free’ national music education initiative in efforts to raise money and awareness. Plus Rodgers and his wife, Cynthia, will match all monies raised.
“Without music in schools curriculum there is a void for young people to express, explore and experience music.  We are on a mission to set up this music program across the U.S.  If not for music in my life as a young person who knows where I would have focused my energy,” said Rodgers.
The Kids Rock Free campaign provides free and low-cost music lessons to students age 7-17 and has serviced over 12,000 kids. Rodgers has dedicated himself to the program since 2003, donating his time, talent and finances. In an effort to expand the program nationwide and to help kids across the United States experience music at a very low cost or for free, the push is on to raise additional funding to make that experience a reality.

Those who wish to participate may simply visit the merchandise booth during any concert date and purchase a $5 fundraising ticket. Two random drawings will be held each night, and the winner(s) will take home one (or two) items. Monthly drawings are also being held online on Rodgers’ website, Rodgers and his wife, Cynthia, will match all donations made during the fund-raising drive.

Additionally, supporters of Kids Rock Free “text-to-donate” can make a $10 donation directly from their mobile phones by texting “ROCK” to 50555. A one-time $10 donation will be added to mobile bills; messaging and data rates may apply. Terms, help and other details can be found online at

Rodgers, celebrating over four decades as a writing and charting recording artist (Free, Bad Company, The Firm, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Solo), was recently presented with the “Classic Songwriter” award by Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck at the annual Classic Rock Magazine Roll of Honour 2009. Rolling Stone recently named Rodgers one of the “Top 100 Singers of All Time,” Classic Rock UK placed him at #2 on their “50 Greatest Singers in Rock” list.  His debut solo DVD “Live in Glasgow” is certified Gold and charted at #1 in Canada, #2 in Japan, #3 in the US and #4 in the UK .  Recently released in the U.K. “The Best of Free and Bad Company, featuring Paul Rodgers” hit the charts in the top 10 and is also certified gold.

The Fender Center for Music Education is a non-profit center dedicated to the music education of children. The 33,000-square-foot building is located at 365 N. Main Street, in Corona, Calif. Run by the Fender Museum of Music and the Arts Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 corporation, the board is made up of civic leaders, elected officials, and business leaders from the Riverside County and Orange Country regions. The main focus of the Center is to provide music education to children at a no or low cost. Music education has been drastically reduced due to money constraints in the public education system. The Fender Center endeavors to bridge that gap by providing an innovative and caring environment for children to explore the world of music performance. Numerous studies have shown that children, who incorporate music into their education, perform better in math and science by a staggering 30 percent. Additionally, children attain a higher degree of personal confidence and a greater sense of accomplish compared to non-music students.
The Fender Center conducts events throughout the year to bring musical experiences to the general public and raise funds to continue the important work of music education. Contained within the Center, the FM Studio, professionally equipped and staffed, records the kids’ performances. FM Studio is available for commercial use and audio recording. Surviving Members of Original Lineup Launch 10-Date U.S. Tour on June 17

Available Exclusively on iTunes on June 16,
All Other DSPs on June 30

LOS ANGELES — The surviving members of the original Bad Company lineup — singer Paul Rodgers, guitarist Mick Ralphs, and drummer Simon Kirke — will reunite this summer for a 10-date U.S. tour that begins June 17 in Hollywood, FL at Hard Rock Live. A day before the tour kicks off, Rhino will celebrate the band’s return with the digital debut of Bad Company’s six Swan Song albums, and its multiplatinum hits collection 10 From 6.

On June 16, Rhino will digitally release Straight Shooter, Run With The Pack, Burnin’ Sky, Desolation Angels, Rough Diamonds, and 10 From 6 exclusively on iTunes for $9.99 each, with the band’s eponymous debut available for $7.99. The albums will be released to all other digital service providers two weeks later on June 30.

Bad Company’s multiplatinum hits such as “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Shooting Star,” “Movin’ On,” “Ready For Love,” and “Rock & Roll Fantasy” propelled them to the forefront of the ’70s arena rock movement. To coincide with the new tour and digital catalog releases, mastertones, ringback tones and sms tones for all six of the aforementioned tracks are available now for the first time from all mobile carriers.

The original quartet – bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006 — debuted in 1974 as the first band   signed to Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label. Their first album topped the charts and was certified platinum five times thanks to the hits “Movin’ On,” “Can't Get Enough,” “Bad Company,” and “Ready For Love” The band returned the following year with Straight Shooter, a triple-platinum album that peaked at #3 and featured the hits “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad.”

Bad Company notched its third consecutive platinum album in 1976 with Run With The Pack, a Top 5 album that featured the hits “Simple Man” and “Young Blood.” The group hit #3 on the charts in 1977 with its follow-up, Burnin’ Sky. The band returned two years later with the double platinum Desolation Angels and in 1982 with its final Swan Song release, Rough Diamonds. In 1985, Bad Company released its double-platinum hits collection 10 From 6, the title a sly reference to the collection’s 10 songs from six albums. The band will release a new live DVD featuring the original lineup, Hard Rock Live, later this year.

Los Angeles, CA – March 30, 2009 – The original members of Bad Company have announced they will reunite for a series of 10 exclusive concerts in the U.S. this summer. The opening show will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL on June 17 with select dates on the tour featuring The Doobie Brothers. Previously, founding members Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke (original member Boz Burrell passed away in 2006) performed a one-off concert at the very same venue on August 8, 2008, recording a live concert DVD before a sold-out crowd. The DVD, titled “Bad Company – Hard Rock Live” will be available exclusively at shows during the concert run and is tentatively set for official release this summer, August 8, via Image Entertainment. Prior to their one performance in 2008, the band had not performed together in nearly a decade.

Rodgers, celebrating over four decades as a writing and recording artist (Free, Bad Company, The Firm, Queen + Paul Rodgers), released his debut solo DVD “Live in Glasgow,” which would go on to chart #1 and become certified Gold in Canada, as well as chart # 3 in the US and # 4 in the UK. Rodgers also released a new studio album titled “The Cosmos Rocks” with Queen + Paul Rodgers and capped 2008 with a sold-out Q+PR world tour. Most recently, Rolling Stone named Rodgers one of the “Top 100 Singers of All Time” and England’s Planet Rock Radio fan poll placed him at #3 on their “Greatest Voices of Rock” list. “These dates are to thank the fans for keeping the music alive,” said Rodgers. “I invited my friends The Doobie Brothers because I’ve always loved their music and them as people.”

“It's great to be back with Paul and Simon,” said Ralphs. “We made great music together and had the time of our lives doing it. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there this summer.” Ralphs has announced plans to participate in five reunion shows with 70s rock band Mott the Hoople at the Hammersmith Apollo in London this October.

“We had such a ball playing together again that we have decided to do some selective shows this summer,” said Kirke. “We’re also looking forward to the release of our live DVD.”

Bad Company’s multi-platinum hits such as “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin Love,” “Rock Steady,” “Movin’ On,” “Shooting Star,” “Rock & Roll Fantasy” and “Bad Company” helped propel them to the forefront of the 70s arena rock movement. Rodgers’ concept to write a song titled the same as the bands’ name and album was a first. To this day, the multi-platinum Bad Co. album arguably remains one of the most accomplished debuts in rock history. Throughout the 70s Rodgers’ and Ralphs’ songwriting continued to yield hit after hit including “Seagull,” “Run with the Pack,” and “Burnin’ Sky,” making Bad Company one of the biggest concert attractions of the decade. The group’s multi-platinum award-winning greatest hits set 10 from 6 has become a record collection staple.
